Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures has launched a new smartphone named Yu Yureka Black in India. It marks the return of the brand to the market after a significant gap where it did not announce any new product. Like previous Yu smartphones, the newest release is also aimed at offering best possible specs without asking for too much money.

The Yu Yureka Black sports a 5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and 441ppi pixel density. Under the hood, it has the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and coupled with 4GB of RAM. There is a 13-megapixle rear shooter with Sony IMX258 sensor and dual-LED flash. It features an 8-megapixel camera for taking selfies which also comes with an LED flash.

It offers 32GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards up to 64GB. The whole package is powered by a 3000mAh battery and will be shipping with Android Marshmallow v6.0. While the software on the device is quite outdated now, Yu has assured that it will be receiving an update to Nougat 7.0 once it becomes available to users. Other features of the device include support for 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and also a fingerprint scanner. There are also a few cool gestures like sliding with three fingers to capture screenshots, double tap the home button to lock and double tap the screen to unlock.

The Yu Yureka Black has been released in Matte Black and Chrome Black color variants. It is priced at Rs. 8,999 and will become available exclusively via Flipkart starting June 6th.
