Xiaomi has launched its second ‘Make in India’ smartphone, Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime in India for a price of Rs. 8,499 (about $125). The smartphone is an improved variant of the Redmi Note 4G with main changes in battery capacity and display size. Additionally, the newly launched phone runs on MIUI 7 based on Android KitKat 4.4.
The Redmi Note Prime sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with 720p resolution. The phone has a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset and Adreno 306 GPU coupled with 2GB of RAM. It offers 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB with the help of microSD card. Xiaomi’s new phone has a 13MP camera at the back with f/2.2 aperture, 28mm wide-angle lens, 1080p video recording, and auto-focus. On the front, it has a 5MP camera with support for 720p video recording.
The whole package is powered by a 3100mAh battery and also features OTG. The Redmi Note Prime has a dual-SIM slot with both the slots offering support for 4G LTE. It has 154×78.7×9.45mm dimensions and weighs 185 grams. Xiaomi has partnered with Amazon India and sales will start from tomorrow 10 AM IST.
