Xiaomi is now reported to be planning a bunch of significant changes and new additions to its upcoming Redmi Note smartphone. It is said to be named the Redmi Note 5 along with the presence of a bezel-less display and dual camera setup. While this will make it first Xiaomi phone with a bezel-less display, it will also make it the first Redmi Note phone to feature dual cameras.
The latest leak comprises of a couple of images claiming to be showing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 from the front as well as the back. The front panel shows a taller 5.5-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and almost no bezels, especially on the sides. As for the back panel, you can see vertically aligned dual cameras (16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors) followed by the LED flash, the fingerprint scanner, and Mi branding.
The back panel design is essentially same as the current Redmi Note 4 except for the addition of the secondary camera. But overall, the alleged Redmi Note 5 leak suggests that it will be a significant bump in terms of the upgrade unlike the almost similar approach from the Redmi Note 3 to the Redmi Note 4.
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to feature either Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or MediaTek Helio P25 processor. We are expecting the Qualcomm chipset to arrive at least with the Indian model. There is said to be a 4000mAh battery to keep the lights on along with the option to choose from three models: 3GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB, and 4GB/64GB. These are reported to be priced at 999 Yuan (about $150 or Rs. 9,860), 1299 Yuan (about $195 or Rs. 12,821), and 1699 Yuan (about $256 or Rs. 16,769) respectively.
