The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is now official in India. The smartphone was launched by Xiaomi’s VP Hugo Barra at an event in Delhi today. It is the first Xiaomi smartphone with full metal body and a fingerprint scanner. The phone has been launched in two variants: 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage for Rs. 9,999 and 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage for Rs. 11,999.

The Redmi Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with “Sunlight Display” feature which offers a better visibility in direct sunlight. The phone was launched with the MediaTek Helio X10 chipset in China but in India, it has been launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC. There is a 16MP rear shooter with phase detection autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. On the front, it has a 5MP camera. The whole package is powered by a 4050mAh battery with Quick Charge and will be shipping with MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop v5.1.

The phone is 4G LTE compatible and also supports VOLTE. Its fingerprint scanner can also be used for clicking selfies and unlocking apps. It will be available in Gray, Silver, and Gold colors options. The Redmi Note 3 will be sold from March 9 via Amazon India and Mi.com followed by Flipkart and Snapdeal later.
