Xiaomi has launched its second tablet so far, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2. The tablet is a successor to the Mi Pad and brings quite a few interesting changes to its specs sheet. It is said to be 18% thinner and 38 grams lighter than the Mi Pad. The Mi Pad 2 will be available in two operating system variants: Android and Windows 10. The Android variant will run on the latest MIUI 7 and will have two models: 16GB and 64GB while the Windows variant will only have the 64GB model.

The Mi Pad 2 sports a 7.9-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels and pixel density of 326ppi. Under the hood, Xiaomi has ditched the Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset, used in Mi Pad, for the 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor. The tablet has a 2GB RAM and Intel HD GPU. It also has an 8MP camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture at the back and a 5MP wide-angle camera at the front.

Xiaomi has also reduced the battery capacity of the Mi Pad 2 as it will ship with a 6190mAh battery. In the case of Mi Pad, it has provided a 6700mAh battery. The tablet also features USB Type-C connector and Bluetooth v4.1. It will be available in Champagne Gold and Dark Grey colors. As for the pricing, the Android variant with 16GB and 64GB storage will cost 999 Yuan and 1299 Yuan respectively. While the Windows 10 variant will cost the same as the 64GB Android variant.
