After a bunch of rumors and leaks, Xiaomi has finally launched its much-awaited Android One smartphone named Mi A1. It has been announced in partnership with Google and is world’s first Android One smartphone to not only feature mid-range specifications but also dual cameras to keep up with the current trend.

Another unique thing about the Mi A1 is that it is the first Xiaomi smartphone to ditch its custom MIUI skin and run stock Android. This also explains the tagline “Created by Xiaomi, Powered by Google” and is something which will be appreciated by stock Android lovers. It also means a promise for regular and faster software updates which is a crucial thing missing from most of the OEMs including Xiaomi’s own mid-range devices.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. It houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor which is known for offering the best combination of performance and power efficiency. The smartphone offers 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage with support for microSD card expansion (hybrid SIM slot).

In the camera department, you will find a 12-megapixel dual camera system on the back where the first one is a wide-angle lens and the second one is a telephoto lens like the iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus 5. It supports up to 2x optical zoom as well as the Portrait mode for clicking photos. It means you have the ability to blur the background of a photo and focus only on the subject to get DSLR-like shots. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel camera.
