Xiaomi has now launched its newest smartphone named Mi 5X at an event held earlier today in China. While it is essentially a mid-range offering, it is an important considering that it not only features dual camera system but is also the first smartphone to be announced with MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat.
The Xiaomi Mi 5X boasts a full metal unibody design with rounded edges and a coating to prevent the surface from collecting fingerprints. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and 4GB of RAM. There is a 12-megapixel dual rear camera system where the second lens is a telephoto lens with f/2.2 and /2.6 aperture respectively. It means you can use the phone for having that natural looking Bokeh effect in your photos. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel shooter with different real-time photo editing filters.
It comes with a 64GB internal storage with microSD card expansion support. The whole package is powered by 3080mAh battery and as mentioned in the beginning, it will be shipping Xiaomi’s newest MIUI 9 OS based on Android Nougat. Other features of the smartphone include a fingerprint scanner and DHS audio calibration algorithm for “high quality audio”.
The Xiaomi Mi 5X will go on sale starting August 1st in China and you still have the chance to register for the first flash sale. It has been priced at 1499 Yuan which is about Rs. 14,200 with option to choose from Gold, Black, and Pink color options.
