Sony has launched two new mid-rangers Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus in India. Both these phones are said to be specifically aimed at Indian users as the company claimed them to be “designed for Indian lifestyle” and “designed to excite the new Indian”. Both these phones are exactly the same except the Plus model comes with more RAM and internal storage.

Both the Sony Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus sport a 5.2-inch TFT display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Under the hood, they have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB configurations respectively. On the back, you will find a 13-megapixel camera with Exmor sensor, autofocus, and LED flash. There is an 8-megapixel camera on the front for clicking selfies.

The whole package is powered by a 2620mAh battery and it will be running Android Nougat out of the box. But Sony has assured that both these smartphones are Android Oreo ready. The Sony Xperia R1 has been priced at Rs. 13,990 and the Xperia R1 Plus at Rs. 15,990 with sales starting November 10th via Amazon, Flipkart, and offline stores.
