In recent times, we have heard reports suggesting Sony’s plans to release a bunch of new smartphones at IFA 2017 in Berlin. Two of these smartphones are said to bear the model number G8341 and G8441 where both are expected to flagship offerings. Now, the Sony G8441 has been spotted on AnTuTu benchmark which gives us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming flagship.
The listing in question here reveals that the Sony G8441 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and run Android 8.0 aka Android O out of the box. This means Sony is likely to be one of the OEMs which will be releasing smartphones running the next major version of Android which is currently under beta testing by Google.
Other specifications mentioned by AnTuTu include 8-megapixel rear as well as front camera, 4GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage, and a display with 720p resolution. While this display panel resolution is hinting that the Sony 8441 could be a new Xperia Compact offering but as per the information available in the UA Profile file, the resolution is listed to be Full HD which is 1080p. This difference was first spotted by XperiaBlog and thus makes it hard to decide what could be the actual resolution.
The Sony G8441 was also spotted on a Polish retailer website recently which listed the phone for €650 (about Rs. 47,874/$740). It is expected to get official at this year’s IFA 2017 event.
