Samsung has launched two new wearable products Gear Sport and Gear Fit 2 Pro at the ongoing IFA 2017 event in Berlin. Both these wearables are aimed at users who are health and fitness lovers. The major difference between the two is that the first one is a smartwatch and another one is a fitness tracker.

Samsung Gear Sport:

Starting with the Samsung Gear Sport, it is a smartwatch with a circular dial and sporty design which also justifies the name. It has been designed by keeping offline usage in mind. It sports a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display with 360 x 360 resolution and Full Color Always on Display functionality. This means all you need to do is to lift your arm to see time/date and notifications with no need of waking up the smartwatch every time. It also features a 20mm strap.

Under the hood, it has an undisclosed 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with 768MB of RAM. The smartwatch offers 4GB of internal storage for app installation and storing offline music. The whole package is powered by a 300mAh battery with wireless charging support and runs on Samsung’s own Tizen OS. It also features water resistance up to 5 ATM and is MIL-STD-810G certified for extra durability. Other features include Bluetooth 4.2, heart rate monitor, Samsung Pay (NFC), GPS, and Samsung Smart Connect app support. You will be able to get the Gear Sport in Black and Blue color options.

Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro:

The newly-launched Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro is for those who are strictly looking for fitness tracking device with no additional features like a smartwatch. It sports a 1.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display with 216 x 432 resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, it also an undisclosed 1GHz dual-core processor but with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage.

It is powered by a 200mAh battery and runs Tizen OS. There are two strap models, one with Large strap (wrist size 125 to 165 mm) and another with Small strap (wrist size 158 to 205 mm). Other features include Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 5 ATM water resistance, and MIL STD 810G certification. It has been made available in Black and Red color options.
