Samsung has sent out media invites for an event scheduled for January 21 in India. It will be launching the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch at the event. The watch was first unveiled at IFA 2015 in Berlin and is currently available in different parts of the world. It has three models: Basic, 3G, and Classic. Samsung has not said anything about which of the models will be made available in India.

The Gear S2 sports a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a circular dial, 360×360 resolution, and 302ppi. Under the hood, it has dual-core 1GHz Exynos 3250 chipset coupled with 512MB of RAM. The smartwatch offers 4GB of internal storage and is powered by a 250mAh battery. The watch runs on Tizen OS straight out of the box.

Additionally, there is a speculation that Samsung may launch theĀ Gear VR headset alongside the Gear S2. Samsung released the VR headset in collaboration with Oculus last year. It can be used with the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and the Galaxy Note 5.
