Samsung has launched the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in India at an event held in New Delhi today. Both the phones can be pre-ordered till March 17 and will go on sale from the next day. Samsung is also giving away free Gear VR headsets to the customers who will pre-order the smartphones. As for the pricing, the Galaxy S7 is available for Rs. 48,900 and the Galaxy S7 edge for Rs. 56,900 for 32GB variant.

As expected, Samsung has launched both of its current flagship smartphones with Exynos 8890 chipset unlike the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 which is available in the U.S. and other such markets. Both the phones were first announced by Samsung at MWC 2016 event in Barcelona last month.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display and the Galaxy S7 edge sports a 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED curved display. Both the phones have 4GB of RAM and run on TouchWiz UI based on Android Marshmallow. There is a 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP front camera f/1.7 aperture. You can also expand the internal storage up to 200GB via microSD on both the models.

Samsung’s newly launched smartphones also come with the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. As for the battery, you will get a 3000mAh battery on the Galaxy S7 and a 3600mAh battery on the Galaxy S7 edge.
