Samsung India will reportedly be starting Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders in India from September 11th with actual sales from October’s first week. The report is coming from Best Smartphones Under citing “reliable sources” and further mentions that the phablet will cost Rs. 74,900. There are no words on the launch event schedule yet but considering the pre-orders date, we can expect it in the first week of the next month.

The report further suggests that Samsung has tied up with Amazon India as the exclusive third-party online retailer for selling the phablet. If true, this will be an interesting move considering that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were launched in India as Flipkart exclusive. But like it happens usually, you will also be able to buy the latest Galaxy Note device from Samsungs’ own online store and various offline stores as well.

As for the pricing, the Galaxy Note 8 is reported to cost Rs. 74,900 which is the same price at which the Galaxy S8+ (6GB/128GB model) was launched a couple of months ago. Samsung has already reduced its price twice and is currently selling it for Rs. 65,900. This sudden price drop also seems to explain that the South Korean tech giant might actually price the phablet at the same price as the Galaxy S8+.

Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Note 8 globally a couple of days ago in New York. It sports a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display. It should arrive in India with Exynos 8895 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. It has been made available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage models and Indians can expect to see at least first two of them getting launched in the country.

The phablet has 12-megapixel dual rear cameras where one is a wide-angle lens with f/1.7 aperture and the second one is a telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. Both these sensors feature optical image stabilization which is an industry first and is capable of offering up to 2x optical zoom. On the front, you will get an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/1.7 aperture.

The whole package is powered by a 3300mAh battery with support for fast charging and wireless charging. On the software front, it will be running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box but will be receiving an upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo. The phablet also features a fingerprint scanner, Iris scanner, S Pen stylus, Bixby assistant, and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
