There have been a number of leaks and rumors related to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 but this new report coming from VentureBeat seems to be the one which will surely make you turn your head. The report mentions that the Galaxy Note 8 is said to cost €999 (about Rs. 72,100) which will make it the most expensive Samsung smartphone ever. While the exact conversion hints at a price above $1000 but the tipster Evan Blass is expecting it to be priced slightly more than $900 (about Rs. 58,000) in the United States.
The report is based on the information shared by a person said to be briefed on Samsung’s plans related to the upcoming phablet. It further mentions that the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to get official in the second half of September which is a time frame slightly different from previous reports related to launch date.
If we talk about the expected Galaxy Note 8 pricing, it is certainly way expensive even when compared to currently available Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ flagships. Both of these smartphones are available for €799 and €899 respectively in the European region and as for the US, these can be bought for about $750 and $850 respectively. It clearly shows that if the report is anywhere close to the reality, fans will have to save a lot of money to get their hands on even on the base model.
As for other rumors, the Galaxy Note 8 is said to sport 6.2 or 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display similar to current Galaxy S8 offering. There is said to be a dual rear camera setup along with 3300mAh battery and the signature S Pen stylus. While many reports suggested that it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, a recent report hinted that it could be the new and upcoming Snapdragon 836 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM. If this comes out to be true, it will be Samsung’s second smartphone to feature that much amount of RAM after the Galaxy C9 Pro.
