It has been quite some time since we started to hear about a new OnePlus flagship said to be called the OnePlus 5T. We first talked about the device earlier this month and now, there is a new OnePlus 5T image leak shared by Android Authority citing a “trusted source”.
The image in question here is shown at the top and as you can see, it does not give a complete look of the alleged OnePlus 5T flagship. It shows the rumored device from an angle where you can notice that there is no front-facing fingerprint scanner. The omission of the fingerprint scanner from the front is most likely due to the reason that OnePlus is opting for an 18:9 bezel-less display like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel 2 XL.
While this leaked image does not actually make it clear whether it is indeed a bezel-less display, the missing fingerprint scanner and previous reports are a good reason to believe that it is a bezel-less display. Moreover, we recently saw a OnePlus 5T render which showed the flagship with a similar design and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
We were previously hoping that OnePlus might actually wait until the OnePlus 6 to go for a such a huge design change but considering recent reports and leaks, we are now more inclined to believe that the change might actually take place with the OnePlus 5T. The reports suggest that the launch will happen next month which means, if true, we will not have to wait longer.
