OnePlus has started to promote its upcoming flagship OnePlus 5 in India via TV commercial which gives us a full look at the device from the front as well as back. The promo is currently being aired during the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Final between India and Pakistan. It shows OnePlus India’s brand ambassador and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan unboxing something which seems to be carrying the OnePlus 5.
The promo ends with a OnePlus 5 render image showing the device in its Black color variant from both front and back panel. The official render confirms previous renders of the flagship which appeared in recent leaks. As you can see in the animated GIF below, the OnePlus 5 has dual rear cameras on the top left corner along with LED flash with overall design indeed resembling the iPhone 7 Plus. You can also notice the fingerprint scanner and antenna lines.
The promo also features the tagline “Dual Camera. Clearer Photos” which is a clearer version of the launch event teaser where OnePlus used the tagline “Focus On What Matters.”
The OnePlus is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display but is confirmed to feature the Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful SoC Snapdragon 835 with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. It is expected to have 64GB and 128GB of internal storage options with no support for microSD cards. There will be dual cameras on the back along with a selfie camera on the front. The whole package is expected to be powered by a 3300mAh battery with Android Nougat 7.1.1 on the software front.
The OnePlus 5 is all set to get official on June 20th with Indian launch confirmed for June 22nd. And while there was a confusion that OnePlus might bring back invite system for the next flagship, it later cleared the air by confirming that no invites will be needed to buy the OnePlus 5.
