Motorola is the latest OEM to have confirmed the list of devices which will be receiving an upgrade to Google’s latest Android 8.0 Oreo. The list comprises a total of 12 smartphones and seven of which are from the Moto Z series. One is from the Moto X series which is the latest Moto X4 and remaining four are from the Moto G (5th generation) series. It means if you have a Moto G4 series device, you will not be getting any update and your phone will officially be stuck at Android Nougat.

Here is the complete list of Motorola devices which will be getting the Android Oreo update:

  • Moto Z
  • Moto Z Droid
  • Moto Z Force Droid
  • Moto Z Play
  • Moto Z Play Droid
  • Moto Z2 Play
  • Moto Z2 Force Edition
  • Moto X4
  • Moto G5
  • Moto G5 Plus
  • Moto G5S
  • Moto G5S Plus

It should be noted that Motorola has not mentioned anything about the time frame. It means even though these devices are confirmed to get the update, it is hard to tell when exactly they will be receiving it.

We know that Motorola uses stock Android on its smartphones which means it should not take much time but we also not its update situation since the acquisition by Lenovo. There was once a time when it was one of the fastest OEMs to release the latest Android version, sometimes even second only to Google. But in recent times, Motorola has become quite unreliable and you can’t really expect when exactly it will start rolling out a particular update.

Nevertheless, we will keep you updated as more information will appear. In the meantime, you can check our Android Oreo update tracker to see what other smartphones are confirmed and expected to receive the latest Android version.
