Motorola has started to release the Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 update to the Moto X Play in India and Canada. The update seems to have started to roll out early in the morning as this was the time when I received it on my device.

The update weighs at about 388MB in size and brings quite a few new features. The most notable changes are the arrival of March Android security update and the latest Unicode 8.0 Emoji support. These are the same emoji which Google introduced for Nexus devices last year.

Other than this, Motorola has brought back the option to turn on/off the camera shutter sound which went missing after the Moto X Play received its Marshmallow update. You will also get the option to double-click the power button to launch the camera application. The rest of changes include stability improvements and other fixes.

If you have not received the update yet, you can check for it manually by going to Settings>About Phone>System Updates.
