Motorola has launched the Moto X Force smartphone in India. It is the third and final variant of the Moto X series after the launch of the Moto X Style and Play last year. The Moto X Force has been touted as the smartphone with a “shatterproof” display. It is available in 32GB and 64GB storage variants at a price tag of Rs. 49,999 (about $736) and Rs. 53,999 (about $795) respectively. The phone will be sold via Amazon India and Flipkart along with brick and mortar stores like Croma and Spice from February 8.
The USP of the Moto X Force is its ShatterShield display tech which is said to be giving it the title of world’s first smartphone with a shatterproof display. The tech consists of five layers: A rigid aluminium core, an AMOLED flexible display, a dual-touch layer, an internal lens, and an external lens. It is said that the phone’s display won’t shatter even if it falls on a concrete slab. Additionally, Motorola is offering a 4-years replacement warranty on the display.
Note: The Moto X Force is already available in the USA. It sells exclusively via Verizon Wireless under the name Droid Turbo 2.
