The Huawei Watch is one of the most popular and best Android Wear smartwatches since the introduction of the platform. And now, we have its successor in the form of two new models named Huawei Watch 2 and Watch 2 Classic. The first one is a sporty looking smartwatch while the second bears a classic look to it and like we have seen with Huawei in the past, there is a special edition Porsche Design model as well.
Huawei Watch 2 Features and Specifications:
The Huawei Watch 2 is a 4G LTE compatible model which means you can use it standalone without relying on a WiFi connection for connecting to the internet. It is a made up of plastic and features a 20mm sports strap which is replaceable. The smartwatch has a diameter of 45mm and weighs about 40 grams without the strap.
The Huawei Watch 2 sports a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with 390 x 390 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor coupled with 768MB RAM. It offers 4GB of internal storage and is backed by a 410 mAh battery.
The watch is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. It will be running the latest Android Wear 2.0 out of the box which makes it the second watch to do so after the LG Watch Style and Sport. It means you will get all the new features like support for standalone apps, customizable watch faces, and Google Assitant. Other features of the watch include Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, inbuilt GPS, and real-time heart rate monitor.
The Huawei Watch 2 has will go on sale from this month at a price of €330 for the base model.
Huawei Watch 2 Classic Features and Specifications:
The Huawei Watch 2 Classic is exactly same as the standard Watch 2 in terms of specifications and features except for a few changes here and there. To start with, the classic model is not 4G LTE compatible. It is made up of stainless steel in addition to plastic and features a 22mm replaceable leather strap. It has the same 45mm diameter but weighs 47 grams.
Huawei Watch 2 Porsche Design:
Huawei does not reveal any specific details about the Watch 2 Porsche Design. It said that the special edition watch will be launched “in the upcoming months” but they did share an image of the watch to show what it will look like.
