In a surprising move, Huawei has taken down EMUI images for all of its smartphones from the official website. The EMUI download page now shows a pop-up which mentions that Huawei will only be providing online updates and the download page will be closed in the near future.

To be specific, the message reads:

“To deliver a more convenient and satisfactory update service, Huawei now only provides online updates for its phones, Tables, etc. SD card update packages are no longer supplied. By this time, all the SD card upgrade packages will be removed from the website and the download page will be closed.”

While this pop-up can be closed, there is nothing on the website that could be of any help to you. You will still the listing for all Huawei smartphones on the download page but when you will click on any of them, you will be taken to a blank page. It confirms that Huawei already removed all EMUI images before posting the message.

The exact reason behind this move from Huawei is unknown but it does mean that users will now have to look elsewhere if they are interested in image files.

In other news, Huawei recently announced Kirin 970 chipset with native artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. It will be making its debut with the upcoming Huawei Mate 10 smartphone.
