Huawei has finally made its much-rumored smartphone, Huawei Mate 8 official today. The smartphone is the latest flagship device from the company. It made the announcement via a press release and will be unveiling at the CES 2016. The phone is currently available only in China and will be available for purchase from Q1 2016.
Huawei Mate 8 Specifications:
In the announcement, Huawei did not reveal too many things about the smartphone. The Mate 8 sports a 6-inch Full HD display. It is made up of aerospace-grade aluminum and 2.5D curved diamond cut glass. It is powered by Huawei’s own newly launched octa-core Kirin 950 chipset. The SoC is manufactured using TSMC’s 16nm FinFET process. It has four high-power 2.3GHz Cortex A72 cores and four power-saving 1.8GHz Cortex A53 cores. It also has an i5 co-processor that “supports speech recognition, low-power consumption MP3, all the functions of a sensor hub, fused location provider (FLP) navigation, and reduces location-based power consumption.”
The Mate 8 has a 4000mAh battery and runs on Huawei’s EMUI 4.0 based on Android Marshmallow. It will be available in following variants: 3GB RAM/32GB storage, 4GB RAM/64GB storage, and 4GB RAM/128GB storage. The company is also offering the phone in different color options: Moonlight Silver, Mocha Brown, Champagne Gold, and Space Gray.

- 3GB RAM, 32GB storage version: $470 (2,999 yuan / 3,199 yuan, depending on connectivity)
- 4GB RAM, 64GB storage version: $580 (3,699 yuan)
- 4GB RAM, 128GB storage version: $690 (4,399 yuan)
