Huawei’s Honor team has confirmed Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X, two of best-selling smartphones from the brand. The announcement regarding the update was revealed by an XDA Senior Member shashank1320 who was apparently present at a fan meetup organized by the team members of Honor brand. The goal of the meetup was to interact with fans, get feedback, and give fans an opportunity to share their views on the phones as well as suggestions for future improvements.

The best part of the announcement is that Honor not only confirmed Oreo update for these two devices but also revealed the time frame when you should expect it to arrive. The team said that the Honor 8 Pro should receive the update by the end of the year and the Honor 6X should get it in early 2018.

It should be noted that these are expected timelines and there is always a possibility that the team might make some changes to the schedule because of any reason. It is also worth mentioning that Honor has not confirmed whether it will be releasing the update globally at the same time or it will start the rollout in phases which will vary from region to region.

Either way, we will keep you posted on any information related to Android Oreo update for Honor devices.
