Asus has announced that it might announce the ZenFone 5 series as soon as March 2018. The announcement was made by company’s CEO Jerry Shen which signifies that the next lineup of ZenFone smartphones will arrive quite earlier than the current ZenFone 4 series which was made official just last month.

Shen said the smartphone business has returned to the growth track because of the recent restructuring. This is the reason that the company is considering an early launch for the next series. It means the current series will not have ample time and will become “outdated” soon enough. If you consider the time for ZenFone 4 series to hit stores, the time gap between the two series is even shorter. The Indian market has currently seen only the release of ZenFone 4 Selfie and ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro which took place about 10 days ago.

While the exact details regarding the ZenFone 5 series are unknown, it is expected that Asus will continue to focus on entry-level and mid-range smartphones. The company faced a lot of backlashes and negative response for its expensive pricing of ZenFone 3 series devices in India which is something it took care of with the release of ZenFone 4 Selfie series. We can expect Asus to follow a similar strategy for the next series as well.
