Samsung’s current flagship offering Galaxy S8 is all set to go on sale in about a week’s time but it will be coming to you without one of its crucial features. We are talking about the Bixby Voice assistant which has been the highlight of the flagship since its launch last month.

It means when Samsung Galaxy S8 will be up for purchase via stores, it will feature Bixby without any voice-related features. This is the reason you will not be able to interact with the assistant using your voice which is indeed a disheartening news for anyone who has either preordered or thinking of buying the smartphone.

While Samsung has not shared any details regarding the delay, it did share the following statement:

“Key features of Bixby, including Vision, Home and Reminder, will be available with the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 on April 21. Bixby Voice will be available in the U.S. on the Galaxy S8 later this spring.”

For uninitiated ones, Bixby is Samsung’s take on Google’s Assistant and is the default smart assistant on the latest Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. It can be used for accomplishing tasks that you can already do with Google Assistant but also things like pointing your phone’s camera at any object to know more about it and even buy it. It comprises of four key areas Voice, Vision, Reminder, and Home.

Samsung has further revealed that U.S. users will be able to use Bixby Voice during spring this year but there are no words on availability for rest of the regions. We will keep you updated as more information will appear.
