Samsung usually launches its Galaxy S series flagship device during the MWC 2017 but we already knew that this was not going to happen this year. And now, the company has finally unveiled the launch date for one of the hottest smartphones of the year. Samsung released the official Galaxy S8 teaser video during its MWC conference where it earlier announced the new Galaxy Tab S3 tablet.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 teaser officially confirms that the upcoming flagship will be launched on March 29th. It means the Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event will take place on the day in New York. As for the smartphone itself, the teaser does not reveal anything specific except for confirming the rumors that there will be a larger display with almost no bezels and no physical home button this time.
Here is also the official Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event invitation which reveals that the event will be live streamed like in the past. If you won’t be present in New York for the event, you will be able to watch it live via the official Samsung website.
We have already tons of rumors and leaks related to the next Galaxy flagship. Samsung is expected to announce two variants of the phone, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Both variants are rumored to feature a curved display which is why there is no “edge” branding this time. While both Galaxy S8 variants will feature top-notch specifications, the most interesting part will be the introduction of Samsung’s own Bixby AI. This smart assistant is said to work like Google’s Assistant, Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, and Microsoft’s Cortana but more powerful.
