Other than the standard and expected Mate 9 smartphone, Huawei also took the stage in Germany to announce an unexpected premium and limited edition smartphone Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design. As the name suggests, Huawei has partnered with Germany-based Porsche Design, a subsidiary of Porsche with the focus on designing luxury and limited edition products.

As a result, you can see that the Mate 9 Porsche Design features design completely different from any of the previous Huawei smartphones. It has been priced at €1395 (Rs. 1,03,553/$1551) and will be available from European Porsche Design Stores starting this December. The availability will expand to Huawei retail stores and worldwide Porsche Design Stores across Asia, Middle East, and Europe from January 2017.

Talking about specifications, the Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display which is a smaller yet higher resolution display as compared to the standard Mate 9. It is powered by Kirin 960 processor like the Mate 9 but with higher 6GB RAM and bigger 256GB storage.

It features the same Leica-branded dual camera setup with 20MP monochrome sensor and 12MP RGB sensor along with an 8MP front camera. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery with Super Charge fast charging and runs on EMUI v5.0 based on Android Nougat.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group said,

“We identified a new type of luxury consumer is emerging. One who needs a smartphone that matches the special demands of their successful, global lifestyles.
