Lenovo’s Motorola has officially launched its flagship Moto Z and mid-ranger Moto Z Play in India. It also announced modular accessories known as MotoMods in the country which also happens to be the USP of these two phones.

Both the Moto Z and Moto Z Play feature a metallic build, fingerprint scanner, and water-repellant nanocoating. Motorola has ditched the standard 3.5mm headphone jack with the flagship Moto Z and replaced it with a USB Type-C port. It is shipping all the Moto Z units with an adapter that will allow users to keep using their earphones and other accessories featuring a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Motorola has priced the Moto Z and Moto Z Play at Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 24,999 respectively. Both phones will go on sale starting October 17th on Amazon India and Flipkart. As for MotoMods, the pricing is listed below:

  • Hassleband True Zoom: Rs. 19,999 and with bundle Rs. 14,999
  • Moto Insta-Share projector: Rs. 19,999 and with bundle Rs. 14,999
  • JBL SoundBoost: Rs. 6,999 and with bundle Rs. 5,999
  • Incipio Power Bank: Rs. 5,999 and with bundle Rs. 4,999
  • Moto Style Shell (Leather): Rs. 1,599 and with bundle Rs. 1,299
  • Moto Style Shell (Ballistic Nylon and Wood): Rs. 1,099 and with bundle Rs. 899

Talking about the specifications, the Moto Z sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD display. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB RAM. The phone offers 64GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. It has a 13MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, dual-LED flash, and laser autofocus. On the front, it has a 5MP camera with wide-angle lens. The whole package is powered by a 2600mAh battery and will be shipping with Android Marshmallow v6.0.1

Moto Z

On the other hand, the Moto Z Play features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and 3GB RAM. It has 32GB of internal storage and microSD card expansion support up to 2TB. The phone comes with  16MP camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture, laser autofocus, phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED flash. On the front, it has a 5MP camera with wide-angle lens. It is powered by a 3510mAh battery and will also be running Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 straight out of the box.
