Truecaller has announced signing up a deal with leading Chinese smartphone maker Huawei. Under the deal, future Huawei flagship smartphones will come pre-loaded with Truecaller app starting from next month with the Honor 8. It will be rolled out in India, America, Middle East & North Africa, and South East Asia.
For those who don’t know about Truecaller, it is one of the popular Android apps on the Play Store with over 100 million installs. It helps users in identifying any unknown number and avoid spammers as well as telemarketers. The app has more than half of its users coming from India which means this deal could see a positive feedback, at least, in the country.
Additionally, Truecaller announced that it has crossed 500 million calls mark. It is the number of calls made by users using the Truecaller dialer but like in the past, the company is silent on the number of average monthly users which is a more important metric for determining an app’s success in the market. However, TechCrunch has reported that the app has recently crossed 90 million monthly active users mark.
