It has been more than a year since we have been waiting for the launch of Xiaomi Mi 5, the next flagship from the Chinese manufacturer. We have come across a number of leaks and rumors, but it looks like we are having a first look at what could be the ‘legitimate’ specs of the smartphone. The source for the Xiaomi Mi5 specs is the Chinese online retailer Oppomart which has accidentally listed the phone way ahead of its scheduled release.
As per the listing, the Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with a pixel density of 551ppi. Under the hood, it has a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset clocked at 2.5GHz and coupled with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The phone has a 20MP rear shooter and an 8MP front shooter. It supports 4G LTE and packs in a 3800mAh battery. The Mi 5 is listed to be available in 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage variants. The website has listed the OS of the phone as MIUI 6 based on Android Lollipop v5.1 which is obviously a typo as it should be MIUI 7. The pricing of the device is listed as $599 (about Rs. 40,000), but as you may expect, it is shown as Out of Stock.
While the website Oppomart seems to be credible, but we would suggest you to take the listing and the specs with a pinch of salt. As the same website had listed the Xiaomi Mi 4 with a Quad HD display and 3GB RAM at a price of $499 which we all know is not true for the phone.
