It has been more than a year since we have come across various rumors, leaks, and speculations related to Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 5. Earlier in the day, we saw an alleged rendered image of the device and now, it’s time for leaked benchmark scores. The noteworthy thing is that if these scores are true, then Mi 5 is certainly going to be one of the beast smartphones.
As per the latest leaked image posted on Weibo, the Mi 5 has scored a jaw-dropping 101339 on the AnTuTu benchmark test. The leaked image further reveals that the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and Adreno 530 GPU. Recently, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has said that the Mi 5 is a smartphone worth waiting for. He did not specify the context of the statement, but if the benchmark scores are true then we can say it may definitely be worth waiting for.
The launch date of the smartphone is still unknown but as per rumors, Xiaomi is expected to announce the Mi 5 on January 21 followed by the launch in the same month. The rumors also suggest that the Mi 5 may sport a 5.2-inch display with support for Force Touch. The phone is expected to ship with MIUI based on Android Marshmallow v6.0 and in two variants. One of them is expected to be priced around $311 and another around $389.
